Indeed we are small compared to the universe, so why be petty minded?
Just a random thought!
I consider myself as a novice astrophotographer working hard to make a name as one of the highly reputed astrophotographers in the country. I could say that I was lucky when i clicked the above picture with a meteorite giving me a hope that someday my dream would become a reality!
The sky with the innumerable galaxies with their stars, planets, satellites forming beautiful and giant planetary systems remind us of our place in the universe! How minuscule we are compared to the visible universe. A person’s ego or pride would just fade and burn if that person realises the above fact!
It was in August 2022 when we had been to the city of Kaza in Spiti Valley belt of Himachal Pradesh in India that I got the time to capture the astrophotography. Our group had completed the Hampta pass trek for a duration of 5 days and we were exploring the city of Kaza. It was a cool night except that the night did not convince me to hit the bed anytime early. The stars were calling…….and I had to say yes!!
Without wasting a minute, I decided to venture out near a foothill in the cold night with my camera gear and shot some amazing pictures and videos of the magnificent night sky, one such picture being the subject of this post!
Our cameras capture things which our eyes cannot see. In this regard, I was reminded of a saying in Bhagavad Gita. Sri Krishna is about to reveal his cosmic form (Vishwaroopa) to Arjuna at the beginning of the great war of Kurukshetra. Before revealing his pure universal divine manifestation form, Krishna tells Arjuna that it is not possible for him to see that form with his human sight for it is limited and that he would need a divine sight to be able to witness that cosmic form in its divinity!
